"Tell me, do you know what day it is? November the 4th? Not anymore.
Remember, remember the 5th of November - The Gunpowder Treason and plot.
I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot."
One of the characters that left the biggest impression on me was none other than V.
The masked hero, the voice of justice, the schizophrenic madman,
and as he himself describes - a valorous visitation of a bygone vexation that stands vivified in front of the now blind population.
Ever since I saw the movie, I was fascinated - not only by the mystery that surrounds him, the meaning of Guy Fawks' mask, but how he is portraying himself as a symbol, and above all -
his ability to shake up the walls that were considered unshakable, and do the unthinkable: stand in the way of the dictator Adam Sutler.
"Remember the idea, not the man".
Creating the costume wasn't hard, since it was mostly things from the closet, except the cape and hat.
I. hate. making. hats.
And in the upcoming blog about Alucard, I'll explain why.
And Tenshi helped, sewing the cape!
I decided to make and compete his costume just before November (symbolic value hehe), for a comic book event in the Student Cultural Center in Belgrade.
This was my first competition, and even though it was in the catwalk fashion, it was still nervous, aaaaaaaaand I messed up. :')
I didn't even flap my cape in the fabolous fashion of the masked hero, and totally missed the stance and poses. But besides that, it went well.
Afterwards, I had a photoshoot with my cospartner Tenshi, and since we didn't have an adequate camera for night time,
we had to cope with taking the shot a million times before it started to look like something.
However I was really satisfied with the first photos in my upcoming cosplay career, and that's when I created my Facebook page and dubbed it "Hisayume" - Eternal Dream.
